Air Conditioning service and recharge

Manufacturers recommend that air conditioning systems are serviced with gas and lubricant every two years to keep them working efficiently and cost effectively.

This is important as air conditioning gas escapes from the system every year making it much less efficient. Look after your air conditioning as you would the rest of your vehicle, because a fully recharged system will put less strain on the engine and as a result help to reduce your fuel consumption. This is not part of routine servicing, so if your vehicle is more than 2 years old, it is due a recharge and re-gas.

Is there really a strange smell coming from my air conditioning?

As systems become older or are used infrequently the air conditioning system can start to develop bacteria, micro-organisms and even mould or fungi growing especially behind the dash panel on the evaporator, this can lead to some very unpleasant odours. Some even claim this can result in headaches and flu like symptom sometimes referred to as sick car syndrome.

Don't suffer any longer - air con systems can be treated effectively with an anti-bacterial treatment that destroys the bacteria growth and leaves your car smelling fresh again.
